Frega is a UK-based software company. Frega Limited is registered in England and Wales, Company No. 10892822. This page explains what we are trying to do, how we think about it, and why we have built the platform the way we have.
Frega stands for Freedom, Global, and Abundance.
Freedom — from extractive business models that treat users as data to be mined rather than people to be served. The dominant model of much of the internet is to offer free services in exchange for personal data, which is then sold to advertisers. Frega rejects this. Your data is yours. It stays within the platform, is used only for your benefit, and is never sold.
Global — because the model is designed to work for communities anywhere in the world. We start with local businesses and their communities, but the architecture is built to scale across geographies without losing the local, personal quality that makes it work.
Abundance — the belief that technology, used fairly, creates more value for more people rather than concentrating it in fewer hands. Frega's community-based service model distributes the value created by the platform back into the community that generates it.
Small and medium businesses have always been the backbone of local economies. They serve communities, employ neighbours, and provide the goods and services that make everyday life work. But for decades, the digital tools that help businesses operate more effectively — customer relationship management, loyalty programmes, direct communication with customers, analytics — have been out of reach for most small businesses. Too expensive, too complex, or simply not designed for them.
At the same time, the dominant platforms of the internet have eroded the direct relationship between businesses and their customers. A business that wants to communicate with its own customers often has to pay an advertising platform to do so, because that platform has placed itself between them. The data that ought to belong to the business — who its customers are, what they buy, how often they come back — sits in someone else's system, used for someone else's purposes.
We believed there was a better way. Frega is our attempt to put things right.
We built a platform that gives small businesses access to enterprise-grade tools at prices they can actually afford — because we stripped out the overheads that make enterprise software expensive. No advertising campaigns, no large employed regional teams, no centralised call centres. Instead, a community-based model where independent professionals within the Frega ecosystem provide the support and coordination that would otherwise require a corporate infrastructure.
The result is a platform that typically delivers more personalised, local service than a traditional corporate model could — and passes the cost saving on to the businesses and users it serves.
At the centre of it is a loyalty reward system — Growth Points — that rewards customers for their loyalty and builds businesses an automatically growing record of their customers and transactions. Layered on top is Frega Chat — a direct, private communication channel, within the garden fence, between businesses and their customers and between any users who choose to connect. Not mediated by an algorithm. Not monetised through advertising. Just a channel.
And within that same ecosystem, Nova — a personal AI assistant that works only with your own data, for your benefit, without connecting to anything outside the platform.
Privacy is not an afterthought or a compliance requirement at Frega. It is a founding principle. The garden fence model — where your data stays within the protected Frega ecosystem and is never sold, leased, or shared with third parties — is not a feature. It is the architecture.
We designed in accordance with UK and EU data-protection regulations from the first line of code. We believe that the people who generate data should be the people who benefit from it — and that businesses trusting us with their customers' information have a right to expect that information will be used only in the ways they have agreed to.
Every feature we build must provide genuine, practical value to the people using it. We do not build features for marketing purposes or to create artificial dependency. If a tool is not genuinely useful, it should not exist on the platform.
We charge for services actually provided — not for access, not for clicks, not for impressions. Activity-based pricing means our commercial interest is aligned with the value we deliver. We are clear about what things cost before anyone commits to anything.
Our service model puts independent professionals from within the community in roles that a traditional company would fill with employees. This is not a cost-cutting measure — it results in better, more local, more personalised service. And it means the value generated by platform activity flows back to the community that generated it, rather than to shareholders of a distant corporation.
We are direct about what Frega is and what it is not. We do not market it as an income opportunity. We do not make earnings projections. We do not describe partner roles as anything other than what they are — independent service positions with variable fees based on actual services delivered. We believe users deserve to make decisions about joining and using the platform based on accurate information.
We are building something we intend to last. That means making decisions with the long-term health of the community in mind, not optimising for short-term metrics at the expense of trust. We would rather grow steadily on the basis of genuine value than quickly on the basis of hype.
